Innovation

GGI’s on-site team is dedicated to innovation, development and the integration of new technologies applicable to HMI interfaces and FHE (flexible hybrid electronics) circuits. This team’s strategic vision allows GGI to reach and stay at the top and to challenge the limits of HMI and FHE technologies.

GGI Solutions is renowned as a pioneer in the Printable Electronics industry and is a proud Level 1 member of the consortium created by the National Research Council of Canada (NRCC) and the Canadian Printable Electronics Industry Association (CPEIA).

Our printable electronics solutions are designed and manufactured using leading edge equipment and technologies, in a controlled (white room) environment. They are usually integrated to a mechanical assembly that meets the specific requirements of the application for which it was created.

Our flexible printed solutions use innovative materials and manufacturing processes to serve numerous applications such as:

  • Silver and copper molecular ink: various formulations available
  • High-density flexible and hybrid printed circuits
  • Proximity or contact sensors
  • Highly energy-efficient ultra-thin heating elements
  • Tailored lighting solutions using various state-of-the-art technologies
  • Energy efficient, uniform light diffusion layers optimizing energy consumption

Green technologies combining creativity, innovation and efficiency

GGI Solutions’ emphasis in using Environmental technology (envirotech) and Green Technology (greentech) is powered by creativity, innovation and efficiency. This emphasis is constantly reinforced at GGI Solutions through strategy, communications, executive action, and cultural and operating model change, while adapting to technological changes in the industries we operate in.

Flexible capacitive technology

GGI Solutions implemented a new transparent capacitive technology. The transparent capacitive sensor is screen printed and have superior mechanical properties compared to standard ITO based sensors. The embedded printed backlighting system delivers crisp light and colors while only being one millimeter thick. GGI’s capacitive touch is flexible and can be easily laminated on a curved surface, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.

This product can be used in the aerospace, defense, medical, industrial, and wearable technology field.

Lighting solutions

Based on the principle of thin light guides, this technology enables the creation of ultra-thin backlighting systems. The light is sent and reflected in an optical polymer on which diffusing dots are printed.

GGI’s team of seasoned experts implemented an algorithm to optimize the positioning and diameter of printed dots, thus minimizing the number of LED used and standardizing the light. This technology can also be used on curved surfaces.

This product can be used in the aerospace, defense and wearable technology field.

Heating element

GGI has developed printed heater using positive temperature coefficient (PTC) ink. The heaters are lightweight, thin and produce heat rapidly in a uniform fashion while remaining inherently safe. They are designed to generate heat up to a specific self-regulating temperature. Applications include a variety of possibilities, where low temperature, uniform heating and a simple low cost solution is required.

Installation is easy and the heating elements can be applied to a wide range of surfaces.

This technology can be used for different applications such as:

  • Constant temperature heater for blood and IV bags
  • Seat, bed heater
  • Display heaters / anti-condensation
  • Battery heater
  • Food and beverage warming
